Recently on my instagram, @thelovelydigest, I’ve started sharing more reels about how you can jump start your healing process and take actionable steps to change your life. Because these steps are so crucial in leading a healthy life, I wanted to go into more detail about them here.
Intuition is the greatest guide you will have. Only you can stay by your side forever and you’re the only person that will ever make you truly happy. Don’t look for happiness or validation in other people or things because you will always be disappointed. This might sound harsh, but it’s actually quite a beautiful thing. When we love and accept ourselves, your own lens of judgement dissolves and it’s much easier to accept all other human beings … because we love ourselves and recognize our own flaws!

Nutrition is at the root of EVERYTHING. Any health problem or chronic illness can be made SO MUCH BETTER by changing how you eat. I’m not saying cure here, but it will make life a more beautiful place if you’re enjoying it in a happy and healthy and balanced body. Again, intuition is at the core here, but before you decide you NEED some candy, do some research about why you are craving it. Maybe try increasing water and adding a pinch of Celtic Sea Salt for better assimilation. Or maybe your body is super fatigued and needs a boost from some unsweetened cranberry juice and coconut water. There’s always an underlying cause of all cravings, just make sure you’re not missing what your body is telling you!

The bottom line here is, if you don’t want to change, don’t even try. You’ll just waste energy and time and it will evoke feelings of resentment towards yourself. I wasted a lot of time going down wellness routes that just never clicked for me and thinking my mental health problems would, “work themselves out” and when they didn’t work, blamed myself for not trying hard enough. When I did finally have my own a-ha moment(s), it was such a beautiful thing. Everything started to fall into place effortlessly: I found a doctor who believes in me, is happy to see me off any medications, and who placed me into a study where I have full access to a mindfulness coach and a nutritionist whenever I need. I have a wonderful therapist and found a program that helps me work through my fears and triggers that are blocking me from living my most authentic life. If it isn’t working for you, keep searching, there’s something out there that will fill you with joy and healing.
