This week I was drawing a blank on what to write, so I thought I’d share all my lovely Instagram followers’ tips on how to get, and maintain, healthy and glowing skin and hair.
The most important tip in my opinion! I mix 1/4 – 1/2 tsp of Celtic Sea Salt into my 40oz water bottle and aim to drink three of these a day.
The more refined sugar you eat, the worse your skin is going to be. Don’t bother doing anything else if you aren’t going to stop eating refined sugars. Coconut sugar is a great alternative.
You might notice skin purging if you start working out more frequently, but keep going, that is temporary. It’s all the toxins leaving your body. It’s good.
Hair masks with simple oils you can find in your home
A wonderful tip sent to me by several followers. I personally use a mix of castor, olive, and coconut oils. (Don’t use coconut oil on your roots.)
The more you bombard your face, the more your skin barrier will deteriorate and the more your skin will be susceptible to break outs. Stick to a CLEAN (minimal ingredients) routine. You can find my routine here.
JS Health Vitamins
While I’m a big fan of trying to get all your nutrients from the food you eat, sometimes this is really hard for those with chronic illness. I personally am still seeing the effects of being in a flare for about six months. My hair is falling out and brittle and my skin is the worst it’s ever been. In order to speed up and support the healing process on the outside, I like to focus on the inside. For me this means trying different supplements occasionally! I try to not use supplements for more than six months. While it’s important to take them for at least three months to see effects, “designer” supplements and “vitamins” are not a replacement for real food. That being said, I really enjoy Love Wellness and I’m going to try JS Health’s Skin and Hair supplements for two months to support my healing process! Their ingredients are clean and I can take them without putting my health at stake.
Thank you to everyone who helped me and suggested these tips! It can be hard to be patient to see progress, but I know things will get better soon!
